VISUAL POETRY
Apocryphal – I used to write an anti-love poem every year on Valentine’s Day. This one is my favorite.
Black Pope – I guess this was inspired by the Vatican’s continuous cover-up of pedophilia. Stay clear of the rectory, kids. It’s not a safe space.
Lights – not everything I write has a prepared theme. Sometimes they just happen as I’m writing, and this is one of them.
Tellurian Tryst – A love story for the strange and star-crossed, I suppose.
Salt Of The Earth – This was written during the COVID insanity. Parting with the fancy wording for a more sardonic commentary. Ignore the copyright year on these, by the way. It’s just the time I turned these into graphics.
Salome – This was inspired by a very interesting series of conversations.
Dead Light District – This was written over a decade ago, inspired by a very frustrating relationship with someone very emotionally distant, if not cruel.
Sojourner – I was listening to a lot of Emma Ruth Rundle, and felt inspired to write something in her particular rhythm and style.
The Beggar – This one actually emerged from a “magnet poetry” feature on Poetry.com many many years ago. The first stanza came from the provided words, and then I used my own for the rest.
The Piano In The Wall – This was inspired by a dream. I was in a large, dusty, abandoned building walking down a hall, and emerging from one of the walls looked like an old organ. I thought “piano” sounded better for the poem, though.
